Myles Smith fills VEGA with pop hugs
Englishman Myles Smith has been playing guitar since he was nine years old, and he took that experience with him when he wrote streaming sensations 'Solo' and 'My Home'. "Solo" already has over 40 million plays on Spotify and showcases Smith's talent for blending folk, Americana and pop into a mix that's hard to unleash.
Inspired by the music he grew up listening to as a child, he began his career singing covers of Chris Martin, Mumford & Sons and Ed Sheeran, but it was his interpretation of The Neighbourhood's 'Sweater Weather' that got things moving for him. Since then, he has amassed over 90 million global streams of his own music.
He has just released the River EP and played a sold-out tour in the UK, Europe and the US. Smith's follow-up debut EP, You Promised A Lifetime, will be released onMarch 29th.
In a press release, Myles says of his debut EP:
"This title represents a profound, yet neutral statement, which gains meaning through the perspective of the person reading it. With the project, my own stories, and the stories of those around me were used to create it, but it’s the stories and journeys of those listening who truly give it life, depending on where you are in life and what you are feeling. I hope it gives space to people to unlock their own meanings."
The singer-songwriter is also a university graduate and has since started a diversity, equality and inclusion company that helps globally successful educational institutions, organisations, sports clubs and businesses adopt anti-racist principles and approaches.
