British electronic pioneers Autechre take over VEGA
Autechre performs in the dark, and during their performance all lights in the concert hall will be turned off. It is therefore kindly requested that you stay in one place during the entire concert. Shining any kind of light towards the stage or around the room will not be allowed, and video recording or flash photography is not permitted.
Autechre - made up of British producers Rob Brown and Sean Booth - have been at the forefront of boundary-pushing electronic music since the early 90s on iconic Warp Records alongside Aphex Twin and others.
After more than 35 years and 14 studio releases, the Manchester duo have perfected an expression between analog hardware production and programming, resulting in a monumental sound that fuses the digital and the human in their live performances.
Rooted in the hard-hitting techno and electro of the UK rave scene, Autechre have explored euphoric ambient music, complex hip-hop breaks, glitch and abstract IDM - often in just a single production.
Alongside their latest studio albums SIGN and PLUS, the duo have released a series of live recordings under the name AE_LIVE, as well as the critically acclaimed NTS Sessions 1-4, demonstrating a constant curiosity and a vibrant musical system that - filled with references to bass music's revolutionary potential as an underground genre and packaged as physically embracing live sets - makes Autechre's presence a truly unique and indeterminate musical phenomenon that can only be described as... Autechre.
