ARXX alternative hit machine unfolds in VEGA
ARXX have quickly become one of the most recognisable bands on the UK music scene. Their debut album Ride Or Die stands as a crystal clear summary of their entire ethos and unquenchable passion for music. "There's no option to give up," explains singer and guitarist Hanni Pidduck. "If we give up, we just lose the most important thing for us."
Since 2018, ARXX has been performing energetic live shows and churning out a strong and electric discography. In particular, early releases Daughters Of Daughters EP (2018) and Wrong Girl, Honey EP (2019) have seen the duo receive praise from NME, DIY, The Forty-Five, BBC Radio 1, and the musical pair have clocked up miles supporting the likes of The Big Moon, Dream Wife and Pillow Queens, honing their craft as live performers.
As ARXX has grown as a band, their sound has also taken a sharp right turn down the pop avenue. The first tracks were angry, sonic explosions that the duo's primary lyricist, Hanni Pidduck, wrote in his youth to fulfil the need to express himself. Slowly, the songs have become more polished and are more constructed around catchy choruses like 'Y.G.W.Y.W.Y.W. (You Got What You Want)' and 'Tired Of You'.
