One of the biggest R&B names of the 10s, Bryson Tiller, takes over Store VEGA
Bryson Tiller became one of the biggest stars and talents of modern R&B in the mid-'10s when he released his monumental 2015 debut album T R A P S O U L. It featured tracks like the seminal 'Don't' and 'Exchange', which have more than 2 billion streams on Spotify between them. Both tracks had a sound that was ahead of its time when they were released and still holds up today.
Along with a handful of other R&B acts of the time, such as The Weeknd and PARTYNEXTDOOR, Bryson Tiller helped push the genre into a new era. The sound as a whole became more melancholic and the instrumentals became slower, a kind of "stepped" slow jams. The lyrics also became more self-conscious and introspective; a new sub-genre of R&B was cemented, and one that many of today's R&B, hip-hop and pop acts have been inspired by.
Following his debut, Tiller quickly gained widespread recognition with multiple platinum certifications and GRAMMY nominations. 2017 saw the release of his second album True to Self, which went #1 on the Billboard 200, followed by 2019's A N N N I V E R S A R Y, which hit number five. Bryson Tiller has also been featured on hits such as DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts" feat. Rihanna and H.E.R.'s "Could've Been".
