The master of sincerity is back
After a long hiatus, Danish-American singer ANYA is once again ready to invite audiences into her unique universe of well-written pop songs wrapped in soul and R&B.
The musician has just released the first single "Sad Story" from her upcoming album, with the working title Kodak Moments. The album is ANYA's open book about love, anxiety, friendship, identity and growing up, and it shows an artist who, inspired by her roots in the USA, has written new music that is filled with a slow jam vibe, 90s R&B and a more organic sound. About the inspiration, the musician says:
"I vividly remember sitting in my uncle's car in Baltimore listening to 70s slow jams and feeling at home. For a long time I've wanted to make an album that shows my love for soul and R&B - it's part of my DNA. The sound is more organic than before - like pictures of my thoughts taken through an old-fashioned camera."
In addition to the new album, audiences can look forward to hearing the Danish songs from the EP Nøgen. Songs such as "Se mig nøgen", "Min Kind" and "Karens sang", created during a time of personal change and worldwide lockdown, have been waiting patiently to be shared between artist and audience.
There's no doubt that you can expect a gripping concert that will showcase the artistic range of an artist with a lot on her mind.
