Candid and melancholy folk pop narratives

Whitney return to one of their "favourite venues in the whole world" when the popular American folk-pop group take over Store VEGA. The band release their third album, SPARK, this year, where they show a more pop-infused side of themselves.

In 2015 the band rose like a phoenix from the ashes of the defunct Smith Westerns. The band's debut album Light Upon The Lake saw the light of day in 2016 and introduced the world to their youthful and cathartic folk-pop. The meeting between Julien Ehrlich's androgynous falsetto and the band's mix of bluegrass and soul results in a frank yet melancholy charge of warming narratives that everyone can relate to.

The debut album paved the way for shows at Roskilde Festival and Store VEGA, and Whitney will be visiting the latter once again as an extension of the album follow-up Forever Turned Around. It was here that Whitney declared their great love for the venue, a gesture that was enthusiastically returned by both the audience and reviewers.
