Cult of Luna are pioneers of the post-metal genre and have been playing their divine, transcendent tones to global audiences since 1998. They released their tenth full-length record, The Long Road North, at the start of 2022. The album has garnered solid praise for exploring all the dark corners of the post-rock genre.
The experiments include a visit from the French indie-pop band Phoenix, Swedish singer Mariam Wallentin and the multi-instrumentalist Colin Stetson, who has played with Tom Waits, Feist, Arcade Fire and Bon Iver.
Russian Circles
The instrumental post-metal masters are back at VEGA. Russian Circles are an institution in instrumental rock. The trio with the vast sound blends classic post-rock with sludge and post-metal in the best possible way, and over 15 years have established themselves as one of the absolute best live acts today.
Their latest release, Blood Year from 2019, manifests sonic authority to such a degree that it almost feels vengeful. Fans expecting new journeys into the world of endless dynamic and sonorous possibilities rarely walk away disappointed from the trio's shows. The tones alternate indecisively between the melancholy, giddy, muted, pastoral and barbaric.
