Beabadoobee on endless repeat❤️

Nearly five years ago, Bea Laus made everyone caffeine-dependent... or at least dependent on the song “Coffee”. The young songwriter is better known as Beabadoobee, who calmed restless hearts with the debut mega-hit “Coffee”. The single is still trending regularly on TikTok and is leading fans into a pop indierock universe a little like the soundtrack of your favourite 90s and 00s romcom.

This summer the singer released her second studio album, Beatopia. The fourteen songs are inspired by a fantasy universe in which Laus was immersed when everyday life was too much. She wrote the songs together with her live guitarist and best friend, Jacob Bugden. Beadadoobee talks about the collaboration:

"I always romanticise it because in all the bands I like, the singer always works with the guitarist, and they’re the two peoplewhomake the music."

Aside from the maybe/maybe not relationship, the interaction works because they are both astrological Geminis. The album is co-producedby Iain Berryman, who has worked with Arcade Fire, Florence + The Machine and Wolf Alice. The latter also shares the label with Beadadoobee.
