Colourful and surreal rock compositions

A genuine indie-cult figure returns to Copenhagen for the first time in three years. The productive and enigmatic Alex G released his ninth studio album, God Save the Animals, last year, and on 31 March 2023 you can experience the American artist’s richness of colourful and surreal rock compositions at Store VEGA.

God Save the Animals follows its highly acclaimed predecessor, House of Sugar, which at the end of 2019 had been rated as one of the best works of the year in a large number of Danish and international media.

While House of Sugar was a gingerbread house of eccentric layers and stories, on God Save the Animals Alex G hints at new religious winds – to a certain extent. Without subscribing to any religious denomination, in his new album Alex G explores faith as a social language, a sense of helplessness and other emotions that the characters in Alex G’s lyrical universe experience.
